Darjeeling Revival Project

Removing CO₂ with Science and Community

Hero Image

A Land in Crisis

Darjeeling's tea industry is under siege. The escalating impacts of climate change are most felt in the 180+ year old tea gardens of Darjeeling. Shorter harvests, droughts, forest fires, and soil degradation have reduced the output of tea, and the region's biodiversity hangs in a fine balance.

Reviving Heritage

We’re partnering with farmers and tea estate owners to spread Hari Mati, test soil samples, pore water, measure CO₂ removal and enhance crop yield, while creating job opportunities. The heritage of Darjeeling lies with its rich soil and people. We’re solving for these twin problems by creating communities and enriching the soil that nourishes its famed tea. We are en route to scaling our operations to 500,000 hectares by 2030.
